Special helmets for TeamVodafone support Red Dust 24-Jun-09TeamVodafone drivers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup have once again gone out of their way to support Red Dust at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin. The duo wore one-off helmets hand painted by Aboriginal artist – and Red Dust Role Model - Raymond Walters Japanangka, who was responsible for the indigenous-themed livery the TeamVodafone V8 Supercars displayed at last year’s event. Raymond also painted a special helmet for motocross champion Chad Reed, an ambassador for Vodafone Australia and a close friend of TeamVodafone. He will sport his unique headgear this weekend at the Thunder Valley MX in Colorado, USA. The V8 Supercar helmets were launched at a special event held at Hidden Valley Raceway last week, where TeamVodafone met with students from local Darwin school Kormilda College. The students, who were rewarded for being role models in their school, enjoyed a chat with Craig and Jamie, who answered questions, signed autographs and happily posed for lots of photos. Red Dust Ambassador and role model Linley Frame was on hand to share insights with the students about Red Dust and what it means to be a role model. |
