Derek runs his own corporate consultancy that specializes in everything from time management and sales training to media and music production. In his spare time he composes, arranges and records music for professional theatre. Some of the award-winning productions he has been involved with include “Pure Puppet Palaver” (Best puppet show, Melbourne Fringe 2006) and “Sammy J in the Forrest of Dreams” (Age Critics Award, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2007). Derek also acted as musical director on such productions as the inaugural Melbourne International Puppet Carnival and the upcoming 2009 production, “1999”, working again with the incomparable Melbourne comedian, Sammy J.
