Red Dust is excited to announce its new partnership with Medibank Community Fund.
Each year, Red Dust works with hundreds of young people in Indigenous communities to deliver health promotion programs. This partnership with supports the delivery of the Healthy Living program through partnering community schools in remote Northern Territory communities.
Our Healthy Living program incorporates three to four week long school visits from Red Dust role models each year. The programs are tailored to the needs of the community addressing topics such as nutrition, hygiene, physical activity and substance misuse and utilises sport, art, music and dance to drive its messages.
Rita Marigliani, Medibank Manager Group Community Relations says that Medibank is looking forward to working with Red Dust.

They take a practical approach to creating healthier communities through their programs, breaking cycles of poor health. The program not only delivers important education, but also promotes outdoor activities with its interactive lessons. We look forward to involving our employees with the partnership through volunteering and fundraising efforts. “
Medibank launched its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) on the 19 of April 2012 committing to a range of preliminary actions aimed at the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Medibank is the first private health insurer to release a RAP and while it has had some previous involvement in community programs for Indigenous groups, the RAP significantly expands the organisation’s commitments.
