Kintore (Walungurru) is situated 530 kilometres west of Alice Springs nestled at the base of culturally important hills, Pulikatjara meaning 2 hills. The population is about 450 and made up of Pintubi people. The community dates back to 1981 when the Pintubi moved back from Papunya.

There are 2 schools in the community however the high school only has around 10-12 students attending regularly. There are many teenagers living in Kintore that are not attending school and Red Dust also attempts to engage this kids while we are there through the music program and the sporting opportunities we have.

The community has a women's centre, clinic, store, art centre, pool, airstrip - along with the council office. The clinic has a good doctor, two nurses and indigenous health workers. The store has a selection of goods.

Red Dust has partnered with Kintore community in the development of the new pool which opened in January this year. This has been a great incentive for children on the community with the pool administering a "No School, No Pool!" policy.
