Luke is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Western Bulldogs, a team he captained for 2 years.

Debuting in 1994, Luke is regarded as one of the Bulldogs' most successful ruckmen/forwards. Luke retired at the end of the 2007 AFL season.

Since retiring, Luke has continued his work in the media, which he began during his time on the sidelines while injured. He is seen on Ten’s AFL coverage as well as co-hosting ONE's ANZ Netball Championships alongside Australian Netball legend Liz Ellis. He is also part of Triple M Melbourne’s breakfast show with Eddie McGuire, ‘Hot Breakfast’.
