Maddie has been playing softball for over 12 years and represented Australia in an International Series in 2005. She obtained an athletic scholarship to Manatee Community College in Florida, USA, playing softball there for two years before returning to Melbourne. She is currently a member of the Victorian Institute of Sport's softball squad.
