Nike believes in the power of sport to unleash potential. That’s why we will invest a minimum of $315 million in grants, product donations and in-kind support through 2011 to give excluded youth greater access to sport.
Nike Australia has established a long and significant relationship with Red Dust Role Models. As a founding corporate partner, Nike Australia has seen Red Dust Role Models develop into an effective program which sees the lives of indigenous youth enriched. Nike contributes both financially and logistically towards Red Dust Role Models community visits, contributing people resources, role model training, finances and sports equipment to each remote school and community.
Nike has also contributed significant community infrastructure to very needy communities in the form of sporting facilities. In the case of the Mutitjulu community, a ‘Reuse a shoe’ (RAS) composite multi-purpose sport surface was generously built. This court is made from recycled runners and sneakers and is suitable for basketball, tennis, volleyball and netball.
