Red Dust Appoints Two New Ambassadors 23-Sep-09

Red Dust proudly announces the recent appointment of women’s cricket legend Melanie Jones and Vodafone Fiji’s Lenora Qereqeretabua as Red Dust Ambassadors.

They join Allan Border, Kyle Vander Kuyp, Luke Darcy, Linley Frame and Lauren Burns in a varied role that sees them represent Red Dust not only to the world, but, most importantly, to the youth with whom we work in disadvantaged communities.

Red Dust is pleased to welcome our newest ambassadors:

Lenora Qereqeretabua

Media Liaison and Events Management Officer at Vodafone Fiji

Lenora joined Vodafone in 2005 as the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation Manager and has since moved to the Corporate Affairs Unit eighteen months ago. She has been instrumental in facilitating the relationship between Red Dust and Vodafone ATH Fiji, and is a natural fit in her newly acquired role as Red Dust Fiji Ambassador.

We did a little Q&A with Lenora to get her thoughts on being an Ambassador for Red Dust:

What does your role as Ambassador entail?

‘I hope to be able to share my experiences and learnings to help the young people I will have the privilege of meeting to live their lives to the fullest. Working with Foundation and now in Corporate Affairs has given me the opportunity to be an Ambassador for Vodafone; being a Red Dust Ambassador is an extension of that role to a very special group of people.’

How do you feel about Red Dust and your role with the organisation?

‘Red Dust and its role models have an amazing way of touching the lives of kids that is unforgettable. I feel privileged to be part of a great partnership between Red Dust and Vodafone Fiji, even more so this year because some of our own Vodafone Fiji role models will be taking part in the programme. For me, I look forward to some of the passion of people like Adam Thompson rubbing off on me; watching the role models connecting with the kids is so much fun and seeing the joy on their faces is so rewarding. To be picked as an ambassador is an honour and I will be there will bells on!’
