Glenn Manton began his professional career as an AFL player when he was selected as part of Essendon’s U19 side. In 1992 he made his AFL debut for the Bombers and went on to play 21 games for them over three seasons. In 1995 he moved to Carlton’s AFL side where he became one of their most respected and key defenders. Glenn played 157 games with the Blues before retiring from the sport after a highly-achieving career.

Besides AFL, Glenn is also known for his humor and public speaking. Throughout his time in AFL Glenn became a popular guest panelist on the Nine Networks ‘The Footy Show’ where he developed quite a reputation for his comedic ability. Glenn went on to perform at the 2008 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and numerous other occasions where he demonstrated his ability to communicate and entertain people in his confident public speaking.

Glenn became heavily involved in community work and charities after announcing his retirement from AFL. Glenn now works with a number of youth charities, including Red Dust. He also visits many schools across Australia where he uses his public speaking skills and high-profile athlete status to talk about life choices and other youth-concerned issues.
