Kate Lynch retired from competative swimming in 2005. As a passionate swimmer Kate stepped out of the pool onto the deck and into the coaching world, whilst studying a Bachelor of Education and Commerce at Deakin University.
Working in the aquatic & recreation sector for over 10 years, Kate has lectured at national and international conferences, developed and implemented educational and health programs as well as managed facilities in both metropolitan and remote Australia.
Capitalising on her transferable skills and love for working with young people, in 2010 Kate was appointed as the Regional Youth Services Manager for the East Kimberley. In this role Kate, has worked closely with community groups to develop community driven self-sustaining programs which develop life skills and an emphasis on closing the gap between Indigenous and non-indigenous Australian’s.
