Tours

A core component of Red Dust Role Model’s Lifestyle Education Program is to conduct Tours to remote communities and assist teachers, healthcare workers and community leaders to encourage youth to make healthy lifestyle decisions. The Tours are attended by Role Models in the areas of art, sport and music who use their specialised skills and profile to convey healthy lifestyle messages during their interaction with the community and its members.

Red Dust Role Models runs several tours each year, each lasting 4-5 days. The response from the children involved is always positive and often results in increased attendance at school for that week. Role Models find that not only are they having some impact on the kids but the experience teaches them about themselves and about a world usually very different from their own.
