Building Strong Young Women and Leaders

Young women leading with culture and confidence

Today we celebrate the leadership of girls and young women. In circles on Country and in classrooms, they speak with clarity, mentor with care, and turn ideas into action. You’ll see it in the way they organise a health activity, support younger students, and share cultural knowledge with respect and pride.

When spaces are designed for young women — shaped by their priorities and guided by Elders and female facilitators — participation soars. Conversations are open, practical and powerful: about wellbeing, study, sport, work, and leadership. The message that echoes is simple and strong: your voice matters; your future is yours.

These leaders are already shaping their communities. Today’s peer mentor becomes tomorrow’s coach, teacher, health worker, artist, ranger or entrepreneur. The ripple effect is generational.

We’re proud to learn alongside them and to keep building platforms where their leadership shines.
