Communities are driving change

Celebrating milestones and role models

Progress looks like many things: a new youth mentor stepping into a paid role, stronger attendance at health sessions, a student returning to co-teach, or a family sharing how their routines have shifted. Today we celebrate these milestones — led by communities, powered by culture, and sustained by local leadership.

Role models multiply impact. When young people see someone from their own community thrive — in school, sport, work or cultural leadership — it expands what feels possible. And when those role models return to share their journey, a powerful cycle begins: learn, lead, return, repeat.

These wins are not one-offs; they’re the result of years of relationships, listening and steady work. They point to a future where more leadership is local, more programs are co-led, and more pathways are shaped on Country.

We’re proud to celebrate with you — and to keep building on this momentum together.

in 2025 we established a Community Advisory Committee. This initiative brings together community leaders from some of the places we work across including, Tiwi Islands, Minjilang, Gunbalanya, Peppimenarti, Larrakia (Darwin), and Bagot and is a way to ensure culture and remote voices lead us as we move forward as an organisation. The value and work of this group cannot be understated, and we look forward to building a future where we continue to walk together in supporting First Nations communities.

Give Monthly. Keep Momentum Local.

Sustained support lets remote voices guide our work, strengthens attendance and co‑teaching pathways, and honours Elders as we build futures on Country together.
