From traditional practices to the sharing of ancient knowledge, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women bring something unique to the table when it comes to the world of business that simply cannot be found anywhere else.
At Red Dust, we take great pride in being able to provide opportunities for women to have their work, art, jewellery and designs showcased, something we have been able to achieve through the Strong Young Women’s Program. The program works together with young women to strengthen their identity, cultural connections and support aspirations through a trauma-informed approach that nurtures healing and two-way learning.
First Nations artist Emma Lake is an Arrernte woman, a mother who also belongs to the Alyawerre and Yankantjarra nations of Central Australia and who is a proud member of Red Dust's Strong Young Women’s Program. She is also the program coordinator across the Central Desert region.
Emma creates jewellery that is a first-class ticket into her identity and cultural practices. Her work combines ancient traditional knowledge with native flora from the Central Desert region.
