Last Friday, our longstanding partners McGrathNicol brought people together at St Michael’s Golf Club in Sydney for their sixth golf day supporting Red Dust.

On the day, we were presented with a cheque for $10,000, bringing the total raised through these golf days to $60,000. It’s part of a much bigger story. Since 2013, McGrathNicol has raised more than $500,000 for Red Dust, walking alongside us and the communities we work with for over a decade.

Support like this helps our team continue working alongside remote communities, delivering programs shaped by local voices, priorities and aspirations. It contributes to the practical things that make this work possible: travel to community, program resources and employment for local role models. Together, these support opportunities for young people to build confidence, strengthen their identity and connect with culture.

Over the years, McGrathNicol’s people have become part of that story. Staff have joined our Healthy Living Program in community, and last year ten of their leaders spent time on Country with our team, listening, learning and deepening their understanding of First Nations cultures and perspectives.

These shared experiences have helped our relationship grow. We’ve also been proud to support McGrathNicol as they developed their first Reconciliation Action Plan, another step in our journey together.

A big thank you to everyone at McGrathNicol and all those who played, donated and helped bring the day to life. Your continued support helps sustain the relationships and community programs at the heart of Red Dust.

Bringing people together can be a powerful place to start. If your workplace has an idea for a golf day, team fundraiser or another way to get involved, we’d love to hear from you. There’s a place for your team in the Red Dust story too
