Healthy Living Program

Young people learning their mastery in all the worlds they live

We work alongside Elders, families, schools and young people to co-design programs that reflect local priorities and promote social, cultural and emotional health and wellbeing—turning community goals and aspirations into practical, achievable actions.

Working together to achieve community goals and aspirations

We work collaboratively with communities to co-design school-based programs that strengthen the social, cultural and emotional health and well-being of young people and their families.

Working together with the strengths of local leadership and skilled facilitators, our Healthy Living Program takes an innovative and collaborative approach that contributes to ongoing learning and sharing.

Through consultation and long-term relationships, our program themes reflect local priorities and aspirations, with a focus on social, emotional, cultural and physical well-being.

Programs are tailored to align with school curriculum priorities, learning objectives and local events in formats most appropriate for your school.

Our approach strengthens trust, voice and choice for young people and families; builds social, cultural and emotional health and wellbeing; and leaves practical tools, skills and relationships that continue long after program delivery.

We partner with:

  • Communities seeking strengths-based, culturally grounded wellbeing—using yarning and shared narrative to shape content, delivery and evaluation.
  • Elders, Senior Custodians and local leaders who guide cultural authority and safety, and co-facilitate intergenerational learning, language and connection to Country.
  • Schools, services and community organisations committed to co-design, culturally safe practice and building local capacity.

What this program delivers for young people

The program gives young people a safe, strengths-based space to build wellbeing, confidence and cultural connection.
Through engaging, hands-on activities across sport, arts and multimedia, participants learn healthy habits, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and experience success in and beyond the classroom. They have voice and choice in what they create, celebrate identity and culture, and leave with practical tools they can use at school, at home and in community.

What this program delivers for community

Co-designed through shared decision-making with Elders, families and school leadership, the program delivers for communities:

  • Culturally safe delivery that strengthens language, culture and connection to Country
  • Alignment with local priorities, school timetables and community calendars
  • Increased student engagement and attendance during delivery weeks and beyond
  • Local employment, mentoring and upskilling opportunities for community facilitators
  • Curriculum-aligned health promotion embedded in everyday school routines
  • Resources and activities that schools can continue using after the program
  • Community showcases and events that celebrate young people’s achievements
  • Stronger partnerships across schools, health services and local organisations

Our Impact - Voices from the Community

The true measure of our work is reflected in the voices of the people and communities we walk alongside. These stories capture the lived experiences, pride, and change inspired when culture, identity, and wellbeing are strengthened together.
